    Adil Hirji brings over 1 years of experience to ANOKHI in the digital media field. Since 18, Adil has founded, developed and built numerous successful online entities by consistently keeping himself up-to-date with the latest online technologies. Based on a solid “hands on” philosophy, Adil remains at the leading edge of the never ending changes associated with today’s technology curve. His hands-on attitude has allowed him to gain thorough experience in nearly every aspect of web site development – from conceptualization, to strategic planning, designing/branding, developing, and the marketing of online properties and has been servicing his clients under the umbrella of his company, AnEntity Inc. Adil is also a sought after graphic designer in the Lifestyle and Entertainment industry. Fashion, Lifestyle and Entertainment are his strong passions. Accordingly, Adil sees the ANOKHI vision and philosophy as a perfect match for him, both today and for the future. Adil has been in this position since 2009.

    Hina P. Ansari

    Hina P. Ansari is a graduate from The University of Western Ontario (London, Ontario). Since then she has carved a successful career in Canada’s national fashion-publishing world as the Entertainment/Photo Editor at FLARE Magazine, Canada’s national fashion magazine. She was the first South Asian in the Canadian national fashion magazine industry. For 13 years, she edited and oversaw the monthly selection of photos for the popular Flare Was There society/party page and produced all of FLARE’s covers and entertainment and fashion spreads as well as interviewing high profile celebrities and having penned feature articles. Hina also coordinated FLARE’s team of photographers and editors in ensuring they have access to the Ready-To-Wear Collections in Milan, Paris and New York. During her tenure at FLARE, she has attended numerous premiere entertainment events including The Golden Globe Awards, The Toronto International Film Festival and the Juno Awards. As a producer, she worked with singer/songwriter Bryan Adams and created Celebrating Canadian Beauty-Photographs by Bryan Adams, released in October 2004 as part of FLARE’s 25th Anniversary celebrations. After FLARE, she moved on to be the Director of Photography for Canada’s first national celebrity weekly magazine, Weekly Scoop. The magazine was the first foray into the magazine world by Torstar, which also publishes Canada’s largest daily newspaper, The Toronto Star. Hina has been in this position since September 2008.

    Dilshad Burman
    Host, Producer, Editor ANOKHI PULSE TV

    Dilshad Burman is an award winning TV host and Canadian media personality. Born in Mumbai, India, she was surrounded by its creative energy and grew up with a passion for music, film and television. While completing her Bachelor of Arts in English literature from The University of Mumbai, she immersed herself in theatre and gained experience in radio broadcasting. After university, she moved to Canada to continue her studies and attain a diploma in Television Broadcasting from Fanshawe College. She started her career in Toronto as a video technician with Westbury National Show Systems and then went on to be a news and entertainment editor with City TV and Omni Television. Thereafter she made the leap to reporter & host and is now well known for hosting 4 seasons of the Canadian Screen Award nominated, urban culture show ‘V-Mix’ on Omni Television. She has received much acclaim in the press and graced the covers and pages of several publications. In March 2015, she was presented with the ‘Most Promising Media Personality Award’ at ANOKHI MEDIA’s prestigious annual awards ceremony. Along with hosting and MCing, Dilshad is passionate about several causes, especially those benefiting women and youth. She has volunteered her time to raise funds for organizations such as We Are Your Sisters, helping victims of abuse and trafficking in India. She has been a contributor for Canadian Immigrant Magazine, writing an inspirational column about immigrant life, its struggles and lessons. Dilshad is also involved with talks &workshops for both new immigrants and youth, speaking to them about self-esteem building, her journey in Canada and her career in media.

    Savanna Scott Leslie is an experienced freelance editor and publishing consultant based in Hamilton, Ontario. She has a bachelor of arts degree in philosophy and Russian literature from the University of Toronto as well as a graduate certificate in publishing from Ryerson University. A voracious reader, Savanna also has a passion for creative writing, cooking, and feminism. As the copy editor and fact-checker for the ANOKHI blog, she loves working closely with ANOKHI’s online team and helping to ready our talented bloggers’ posts for publication.

    Sophie Tolias is a Toronto-based freelance writer, journalist and editor with over 10 years experience and a Bachelor of Journalism degree from Ryerson University. She has a passion for writing, exploring issues, telling people’s stories and reading, and often does the latter with a red pen in hand. As ANOKHI’s copy editor and fact check leader, she enjoys fine-tuning stories once all the big pieces have come together and gets great satisfaction out of catching an error before it can make it to print.

    Monika is one of the original members of the ANOKHIdream team and a true jack of all trades. She currently holds the title of Style Editor and is a self-professed style junkie, constantly analyzing the trends from the world’s runways to the best buys on the street. She recognizes what is hot and has no problem sharing this in her articles that are filled with great eye candy which encompass a milieu of snazzy products, accessories and apparel for every budget, making her the perfect fit as our Style Editor.
    Her ANOKHI accolades to date are: creating the very firstANOKHI “holiday gift guide”, attending an ANOKHI Women’s club event as a key speaker, building the ANOKHI Blog department’s global blogger community, supervising the video department in its infancy stage, building a diverse social media platform, managing campaigns and promotions with ANOKHI promo partners and creating theANOKHI MEDIA voice on social media.

    Having gotten his start with Anokhi Media as an intern in 2009, Matthew Currie was honoured to accept a position as the magazine’s Arts & Entertainment editor earlier this year. A graduate of the Professional Writing program at York University, he’s spent the past four years working as a freelancer for Anokhi and publications diverse as Sharp, TV Week, CAA’s Westworld, BCBusiness, and In that time, he’s written on numerous topics, but movies remained his personal and professional wheelhouse. He’s thrilled to take on this expanded role with the magazine that launched his career, and to work alongside Anokhi’s top-notch stable of music, literature and film & TV experts to keep readers in-the-know on all things entertainment.

    ANOKHI Magazine’s fashion editor, Tessa Johnson is a Fashion Business Management graduate from George Brown College who started as an intern at ANOKHI Media in the fashion department, then started to test her writing skills writing travel pieces for Online Exclusives: Hotspot! Five years later, she has written various pieces for our publication ranging from entertainment, wellness and Perc Talk. In the last two years she has risen to the challenge as the ANOKHI List Editor and is a true fashion junkie at heart, you can find Tessa’s fashion critiques and local fashion event coverage on RAMP1885 and now in her role asANOKHI’s fashion editor.
