"Take care and let us know when you are getting your air tickets to Karachi done," Banerjee wrote. "We plan to give you a grand farewell."

Banerjee wasn't alone in wanting Pakistani artists on the next flight home.

Khan will be starring in Karan Johar's upcoming Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, and Johar said that the demand to ban Pakistani artists from working in India is "not a solution to terrorism."

The producer has been under verbal attack for casting cross-border talent, even though his intent is to put out work made out of love.

"Sometimes, you just want to fold your hands and say we are a creative industry. Please leave us alone. We make movies, we spread love," said Johar. "

There are millions in the world, in our country who are happy with the work we do, allow us that."
