#TIFF16 Red Carpet Style Highlights: The Looks We Loved From The Toronto International Film Festival

Anokhi Buzz Anokhi DIY Entertainment & Gossip Sep 23, 2016

Lights. Camera. Action! Here are our choice red carpet highlights from TIFF 2016.

#TIFF16 came and took the city of Toronto by storm leaving behind a trail of red carpet style trends. Trends that have left trails of inspiration, awe and down right fashion chaos (in a good way of course).

Here are our top choices that were seen on the TIFF16 red carpets.

1. Vivacious Vixen

Amy Adams was a lavish lady in red with a built-in collar dress by Alexander McQueen and she strutted the red carpet in style during the premiere of her film Arrival. She was simply a vision. The outfit allowed Adams to float along the carpet with ease proving its practicality and when she posed. Well, you be the judge.

2. Bright & Beautiful

For the much awaited Mira Nair film Queen of Katwe, lead actress Lupita Nyong'o gave us a refreshing new look wearing traditional African formal wear by House of Herrera. The bright blue and canary yellow hues were a stark contrast to the glam red carpet and allowed her to shine in all her glory. Proof that being bold in your colour choices can never fail you.

3. Couture Chic

You know its never a successful TIFF for us here at ANOKHI MEDIA unless we see one star bust out a full-on desi look. This year, it was Bollywood actress Priyanka Bose who rocked a couture Sabyasachi saree to the red carpet premiere of Lion also starring Nicole Kidman and Dev Patel. This look showed off our culture proving that a desi look can never do you wrong.

4. Floral Fairy

In a beautiful see-through floral creation by Tom & Lorenzo, Rachel Weisz showed us why she is not one to miss at the red carpet premiere of her film Denial. In the city grunge of downtown Toronto, Rachel gave us a glam look that evoked the feelings of summer, but was whimsical enough to take us into the fantasy that is fall. She was an absolute stunner.

5. Clean-cut & Crisp

And of course, who can forget the dudes. Ryan Gosling and Ethan Hawke gave us clean-cut and crisp looks that were quite plain in comparison to other outfits but packed in maximum punch on the red carpets.
