Farzana Doctor is the Toronto-based author of three novels: Stealing NasreenSix Metres of Pavement (which won a Lambda Literary Award in 2012 and was shortlisted for the Toronto Book Award) and the recently released All Inclusive.

[blockquote]She was named one of CBC Books’ “Ten Canadian Women Writers You Need to Read Now” and was the recipient of the Writers’ Trust of Canada’s Dayne Ogilvie Grant (2011). She curates the Brockton Writers Series and is a proud member of The Writers Union of Canada.[/blockquote]

Recently, Farzana was named Best Author in NOW Magazine. The runner-up was the well-respected, critically and commercially successful, and iconic Canadian author Margaret Atwood. It was on the heels of that honour that I had the wonderful opportunity to speak to Farzana about how she felt coming in first place, beating the legendary Atwood at the race. We also chatted about her unique style of writing, which has won her so much praise, and the process through which she creates, writes and spiritually exists. Finally, she dishes on the intimate details of her new book, All Inclusive.

    Enjoy!
